Position: Dentist – Community Health | Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay
Employment Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)
Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 + Travel Expenses + Accommodation provided for up to 3 months in town (can be furnished)

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Dentist to join our dedicated team in Wairoa, serving a high-needs, underserved community through a whānau-centred model of care. This is a rewarding opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about making a genuine difference in people’s lives.

This role involves working from a fully equipped 2-chair mobile dental unit and you’ll be supported by an experienced team including 2 Dental Assistants, 1 Receptionist, and a Practice Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive general dentistry and emergency dental care
  
• Provide endodontic treatment as needed
  
• Work effectively within a mobile dental unit setting
  
• Engage with patients in a culturally responsive and respectful manner
  
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver whānau-centred care
  

Essential Skills & Experience:

• 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred
  
• Proficient in general dentistry, emergency dental care, and endodontics
  
• Clinically confident, with sound diagnostic and treatment planning abilities
  
• A great communicator with a high level of cultural competence
  
• Adaptable and empathetic, with a humanitarian approach to healthcare
  

Practice & Equipment:

• Mobile dental unit with 2 chairs
  
• Shared site with Te Whatu Ora
  
• Intraoral camera, OPG, and digital x-rays
  
• High-needs patient base that is welcoming and highly appreciative
